This was once part of the Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area. It was a compound for buffalo and bison. In 1965 Wildlife (Bison) compound was constructed and in 1967 the Bison (Buffalo) herd was established. They were transferred to the Mountsberg Conservation Area in 1994. A small wood structure (22?X20?) provided shelter for the herd of buffalo that once inhabited the site. Currently unused and is due to be decommissioned. The Bruce Trail passes threw part of the compound. A structure that was once used as a holding pen to either groom or maintain the herd is still standing.

I was there years ago, pre-digital technology days. RockandRoll had visited a place near by, that got me thinking about this place again. I'm not sure how interesting it will be to photograph, but it will be a nice hike in the spring once the ground dries a bit.

If you continue to walk straight where Walkers Line ends, it turns into a trail that then leads to the Bruce Trail. You will walk right passed the holding pen.
I've been planning a visit there once the grounds are better for walking around.

It definitely was difficult walking the trails without snowshoes. I should invest in a pair and keep em in my truck.
