Location # 4495

Two abandoned apartment buildings situated beside each other.

Apartement complex was abandoned 3 years ago, duplex was abandoned 10 years ago due to a fire. Both are assessed as contaminated sites by the city of Ottawa for Lead dust, Asbestos, spores, mold, and other airborne particulates. Both are easy to access. Duplex has weak supports on the top floor in some of the rooms, be careful. Watch for neighboring houses and passing cars. Recommend bringing a breathing mask, and a flashlight.

Both sites are planning redevelopment soon, I would recommend checking them out before they're gone.

Ah yes, the info I have on the place was from a couple years ago talking about renovation.

@Moderate The street view photos are about 3 years old, 245 has been renovated and restored, and families are now living there. 280 was also inhabited at the time of taking. At both locations, there's quite a lot of remnants from the people who lived there, mostly papers, journals, floppy disks, and I also found telltale signs of vagrancy as well.

Great find. I tried using Google Street View to find what they looked like from the outside, and as always the street view doesn't start in the right spot...it instead started near 245 Crichton which is also abandoned. Seems like there are a lot along this street.
