Chalmers-Forrest RD. This beautiful historic bridge is situated on this road, or what used to be this road because the small section leading up to the bridge has been abandoned as well. Made approx 1910. A pratt thru truss bridge, it is one of a dwindiling number Waterloo region. As these deteriorate, it is VERY costly to maintain and make repairs to them. Another problem is that with vehicles getting heavier and heavier, posted weight limits tend to be ignored. Like with most bridges that are closed to vehicular traffic, many people use it a a cut-thru/shortcut. It is scenic. But then again, the Nith is a scenic river.

We went there today for a walk, very over grown but looks like lots of people have been there based on the foot prints, dog poop and worn down grass.
