Left laying in the old ballast pit. 80 pounds per meter, and the 5 vertical lines denote the month the rail was rolled. This one was rolled in May of 1912, likely in Sault Ste. Marie.

Pretty sure they're barrel rings, also from the old ballast pit.

Blurry coal, ballast pit again.

This is the first foundation you come across when you walk in.

Kim Casey from Nipigon has a book called "Thunder Bay District's True Murder Investigations (1885-2016)", and has a story about a killing that took place in Tashota in 1932. It gives some detail about the town. The murder occurred in the grocery store owned by the accused's mother, who was in a relationship with the victim James Rowlandson. Also mentioned were a bunkhouse and a restaurant where the victim was drinking that night and the telegraph office where a call was made to police. The accused was 16 years old and was ultimately found not guilty due to circumstances. It also mentioned the area was over run by gold prospectors during the time. It is an interesting book. So there is a little history on Tashota.
