Purchased in 1958, this land was used as recreation property by my great grandfather and his 6 kids until the early 1980's when the various buildings (thrown hap-hazardly together from old Chippewa park cabins and scraps of lumber obtained from CN) began to become delapidated. Soon the bears started to get into the buildings and really started tearing things apart. The whole place sat dormant for many years until in the mid 90's the whole mess of buildings were bulldozed into the middle of the field and set on fire. A few outbuildings remain (a few sheds, outhouses, etc) and a lot of garbage and building foundations remain to this day. It is currently being cleaned up (very slowly) in order to be rejuvenated as a family recreation property.
