Not sure when this thing was in operation or when it closed but I know it wasn't running when we moved to Thunder Bay in 1989. It's located about 10 minutes from my house and I wasn't even aware of it's existence until about a year ago. It also took me a while to find it but having a dad who is retired MNR helps also.

Most of the original cable frames that go up the hill are still standing except for one, and there is also one chair sitting in amongst the trees. Some of the motor equipment at the base of the hill is also still there. At the top there are more standing frames and the giant cable wheel. There is also the remains of some building and other random junk lying around. Easy to access since there are lots of trails going up and down.

I went up here recently, and there's a lot more to the ski area than mentioned here. This ski area has 4 different areas going up 2 different mountains. I got a few more photos from different parts, but I can't upload yet.

My dad said he used to ski here! Also Funny how most abandoned ski lifts get marked in red on google maps.

1. This was the site of Thunder Bay's first ski jump. 2. It is used as a downhill mountain bike area in the summer, so be weary if you venture onto trails that look well used and/or have tire treads in the mud.
