"The Anishinaabe Bimaadiziwin Cultural Healing and Learning Program is one of the very few off-reserve, culture-based educational spaces created for Anishinaabe children and youth in Canada." - Taken from the description of their education book.

This cultural healing and learning program was operational from 2002 til 2006. The school was owned and run by a native woman named Nicole Bell. She was chosen as "Chatelaine Soul Model" in 2003 for her contributions to the native youth in the area.

It was sealed shut when I went by, but a few windows were broken. No interior access, but you can see inside through the windows. Lots of learning materials and childrens toys have been left inside.

2019 Update: the property has been purchased and one building converted to a smoke shop. The other building is still "Abandoned".

ground state Great spot, very unique! Cripes, the spelling of that name is worse than when I was a young kid and first read highway signs for Penetanguishene.
