Abandoned rail bridge, corroded and left in the open position, on the Otonabee River and seen from the Lansdowne Street bridge. Two thirds of the bridge still stretches across the river. This is a CNR Swing Girder Bridge unlike the other two railway Swing Truss Bridges in this city. It was built in 1888 by the Hamilton Bridge Co. of Hamilton ON.

This old swinging rail way bridge has been abandon since I can remember and has been abandoned for many years. Not once in my 28 years on earth I have ever seen it move or even get used?!
