Demolished House in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario, Canada

My husband and I located these houses during our trip to Niagara. I don(a)t know any history regarding them or if have been demolished as of yet. One in wide open and completely accessible. The other is accessible only through a broken window. We didn(a)t enter that one.

Update by f.o.s. I visited in May 2013, and both houses are still there, but boarded up with no ground floor access. 179 is not boarded on the second floor, but I didn't attempt shimmying up to the side balcony lol! The grounds are tended, and after I left, I noticed a car parked at 179. I drove by and saw an elderly couple; the gentleman was just strolling around and the lady seemed to be pulling weeds/plants from the front garden.

Time may be limited here. From what I gather, 179 is already gone and 177 although being from the 1800s is up for demolition sooner than later. Link to the article I found posted below the description above.

i went by the houses and went into the 1.5 storey one and my father is a realtor and he told me that the owners of the hotel nextdoor bought the two lots for 8 million a couple months ago so im guessing that another hotel will be built

I'm shocked regarding the 2 story grey home with shutters is left the way it is!! - this is Niagara on the Lake - big property taxes are paid here & they seem to really be one with the history of the area - that is why I cannot understand this home is left the way it is!!

Did you open that door on the floor in the 3rd pic, neighbour 2?

We tried but were unable to. It was either sealed or the wood was warped.
