A collapsing motel at the entrance to Chippawa, sitting on prime river-front real estate. A homeless person informed me that the location is owned by a wealthy Toronto lawyer who stays here on weekends like a hermit, barricading himself inside a small house on the property. Apparently the lawyer does not care what happens to the motel and freely allows people to wander around at will. Lending credibility to this story, there was indeed a new Mercedes on site during my visit. I could hear someone occasionally banging around inside the house while I visited. Despite an hour visit, wandering in and out of doors and standing in broad daylight to photograph the resident urban wildlife, the owner did not approach.

punchbowl This sounds like the same people/lawyers that own the Love Farm on First Road East in Stoney Creek - they let it get so run down!! then tried once to set it on fire but didn't take!! and the second try the entire home went up in flames!!! - this information came from a very reliable source!!!

Lady Morganna Interesting place, and so great that you were able to explore and not feel like you had to be looking over your shoulder constantly.

quiksilver why don't you people still have 2 or more feet of snow on the ground? It's so hard to get into some of the places I have earmarked for a visit because of this stuff.

ground state Her vast fortune better not have been hidden in that toaster oven! Even stranger, the homeless woman told me that the lawyer occasionally lets people wander around inside the house as long as he is left alone to his reclusiveness. "There's even an old mattress in one of the stairwells", she said.
