FROM OAP: This beautiful heritage-status house is located on Fiddler's Green Road. The house was constructed in 1860 by a Scottish settler who arrived in Canada in 1842. Between 1860 and 1984 the house had only two owners. (see details below) Today the property is for sale at a cost of approximately $2,000,000 including an adjacent golf driving range. The farm land is currently used as a sod farm. There is very little left inside the house other than old CD's, remote controls, school papers, a photo album and several envelopes of birthday cards from the early 2000's. The name on the envelops reads "Alexia" but I couldn't find even a single search result on the girl's full name. There is some lovely construction inside the house, particularly the craftsmanship on the window trim and hand railings. Out in the barn is a Pontiac GTO. I didn't know the year of it (the license plate says 1973). The body is rusted, the seats and upholstery are completely trashed but perhaps with some bodywork and replacement parts this could be restored. There is also an antique sleigh being stored in the barn. The barn is constructed with sheet metal, some of which is laying on the ground. When the wind blows the loose metal on the roof bangs against the barn - take extreme caution if you enter the barn. ______________ FROM GROUND STATE: This house was erected in 1860 by John "Squire" Russell, one of 12 Scottish settlers who arrived in 1842 and gave the area its name of "The Scotch Block". It remained in the Russell family until 1934 when it was sold to Reginald A. Christie, who lived here until his death in 1984. This well-preserved structure of red brick and buff quoins with flared lintels shows Neo-Classical and Georgian features, with its brackets, multi-pane transom and sidelights, 6/6 windows and shutters, eave return and barge board.
