School Section Number 5 was built in 1876 at a cost of $3000 and closed in 1959.It is now Brant County No. 6 Fire Hall (Volunteer) and county offices. This massive school could seat 200 students. All other schools in this area have been demolished........................................................ In the 1830s Settlers in this area took Indian land as squatters rights and some were fined $30. After the settlers increased the government decided to make a treaty in 1840 and took all their land. Probably for next to nothing. Shortly after, every lot in the township was owned by white settlers except 17 measly lots. In 1840 the population was 150, 1,650 in 1850 and 2,065 in 1861 ...............................................................The door hinges are very strong and with flare. The bell sits in front and is now silent but I don't see why its not put back with an automatic striker for fie calls. The last letter A of Onondaga is missing. The 7 in 1876 is different.

Camroo Sadly it's gone. They demolished it not too long ago. I was there just a few days before it was tore down.
