I found the pictures of the town of Searchmont very interesting, and the fact it’s classed as a ghost town.
My dad worked at the lumber mill and I grew up there, from the age of 7 till I left in 1968.
I was back once in 1997 and saw a few people and explored my old haunts. My brother and I found the things we remembered so well were much smaller then we thought. I wTched the ski hill being built and skied there till I left.
We lived on the company property and received generated power and enjoyed indoor plumbing, unlike a lot of my friends.
I remember the hydro and telephone coming to Searchmont...we decorated our cars and had a small parade.
I tried to contact the person who took the pictures as I do believe his sister and I were friends. I lost contact of everyone after I moved away.
Very interesting read though, enjoyed the flashbacks.
