The Factory On Charlton St.

Demolished Industrial in Brantford, Ontario, Canada

Despite being nicknamed "The Brick Factory" by some friends and I, no actual history behind the building is known to us (aside from doing a quick Google search and yielding the correct name of the establishment was "Brantford Brick Ltd./Brantford Brick Limited", no information could be found about the location). The place earned it's colours for the overabundance for bricks on the property. Some in huge piles, and some still neatly packed together. There are also a few skids/wooden pallets, but not any copious amounts. Unfortunately, this is all that remains of the location, with the exception of one or two broken pieces of machinery lying around, some tires, and some crude metal abomination in the middle of the lot that, ironically, used to proudly stand in the middle of the factory. The factory used to stand with six rooms, connected to a tool shed. Beside the tool shed laid an empty one room shanty, with one shelf and a few full buckets of pink machine lubricant. Aside from the presence of a lonely old broken down crane, the whole place always seemed quite desolate and broken down. The sad place has been demolished, (Have caution visiting for the many holes left in the ground from said demolishing) but it doesn't seem to be being re purposed, so it currently serves as an old pile of skids and bricks.

Sorry, I forgot to update. A week or so after my reply I went to check the surrounding area. All properties in close vicinity are currently occupied by different companies. A real let down, if you ask me.

Seems to be a lot more to explore here than the photos and description indicates. That large building at the road still shows up on 2014 Streetview. The active industrial holding yard in front of this site may or may not be the same company. Regardless, too many unknowns for BM so changing to FM1. Great industrial find!
