This old foundation appears to be all that's left of an old farm building from years gone by. I don't know the history of the area all that well but having walked along the many paths around here I can tell you that there are a lot of old stone fences in the forests and fields. So that has lead me to the conclusion that this was at one time a farming area. The foundation is approximately 4m x 4m in size so I think it's too small to have been a house. Maybe it was a cold cellar? There is quite a bit of rusted sheet metal surrounding the foundation - perhaps old roofing material. There are remains of another building about 10m away but they are quite overgrown and don't show at all in photographs. The other foundation is somewhat larger but all that remains is a depression in the ground with a littering of stones around the perimeter and some junk in the interior.
Directions: The best place to park is at the nature trail parking lot on Hunt Club Road, just East of Moodie Drive. Across the road from the parking lot you will see the path you need to take. NOTE: Be very careful when crossing Hunt Club Road as the road can be quite busy and the speed limit is 80km/h here. Take that small path and stay right until you reach a larger path. Stay on the larger path (heading North) for about 1/2 kilometer. When the path suddenly narrows and the forest seems to encroach on the path you know you are near. The foundation is on the left side and is just off the path so you can't miss it. The second foundation is another 10m further on the same side. Just as the path takes a hard right you will see a faint path leading to it.
