I first spotted the broken upstairs window out of the corner of my eye, back there in the trees, barely visible. The driveway had a cable across the entrance and the laneway was overgrown, all a good sign.

I parked a short distance away and made the trek up the driveway, relishing the thought of what must lie ahead. I was rewarded with a well weathered old farmhouse, overgrown and partially collapsed. The rear addition of the house has fallen down, but the main structure is intact, although the floors have holes in places and upstairs was very weak. The biggest surprise inside this rustic abode was the piles of paintings scattered around the main floor. All the paintings were nudes, mostly women of all ages in various poses. I wondered what the story was behind all these works of art, and behind the faces of those who posed for the artist, and how did they all end up here inside this abandoned farmhouse.

There was also a small barn behind the house, but it was so overgrown I did not attempt to gain access. Thorns and poison ivy ruled the day.
