Description

In 1831, John Campbell bought 100 acres from John Galt. In 1853 they donated/sold this land for a burying ground, for 1 pound. John Campbell was killed by lightning the day after he signed away this property for the cemetery on the 25th April 1854 at the age of 70. He joined his daughter of 8yrs old. who died in 1840 in a town that bears their name. A church was here and is a residence now across the road. The road to the cemetery here is one of the oldest in this area. A new church and cemetery were built just across town in 1891, St David's, honoring David Wheelihan for donating that land. Some unseen hazards apparently exist,
