Was formerly a Shell 1867 "Canadiana" Rest stop. An 1867 log cabin themed restaurant and built in the 1960's with a number of other service centers along the 401. It seemed to have been abandoned by the late 80's or early 90's. Soon after, It may have briefly reopened almost to close again immediately. It would remain abandoned and deteriorating for the next 20+ years before finally being torn down in 2014.

I saw this yesterday from hwy 401 and of course stopped to take a look and snap few photos. It's more colorful now than 3 years ago and features couple of POEs. Very cool location. :)

Umm... don't go with the theory that no signs means you're all good. I've known a couple of people to get their butts chased away from that place in a damn hurry. It may not seem like it's being watched, but everyone I know that has attempted it either had to bail as they saw the cop cars pulling up, or ended up talking to them. Sealed up tighter that a fart in barrel too.
