Briar Hill Public School closed at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Toronto needs less schools and more condos, this one looks like it will be remodeled rather than torn down by the looks of the artist rendering. Sealed up real tight right now but only a matter of time before something shakes loose. Not sure why it has the 1863 stone as it is definitely not that old. I believe that refers to the area rather than the building. Will be keeping an eye on it for access. ;) A few "before" pics for the time being.

....I went to school here, grade3, 1978-79 school year. Mr. Kennedy was my teacher. I hated this place; I went to six different schools between k-8, and this was the worst. Some very, very nice fellow students who became friends for years after, but I associate this place with a great deal of pain now.

Just saw on CTV news, this one has been demolished for condos.

Hey GM, where did you find that info? If it is correct they have no right to change the exterior as the plan shows. It's not listed as a building built in that decade?

The main portion of the building is from 1873 and also shows the traditional Boys and Girls entrances.
