In 1857 Thomas[Thos.]and Anne Blair donated land for a cemetery. They also owned land across the road in behind the Ebordale town sign. Ebordale didnt seem to be very big and only the church , the Blairs , Elias Edge and Thomas Cook lived here at the time of my reference map and Ebordale was not on the map just the church and residents. Hayward's Falls Post Office was just west of here . There is a place just south of here , in the trees marked as Zion and where Ebordale ON google search brings you to ... not at the church, hmmm. In 1860 a frame church was built. The Durham New Connextion Methodists included an appointment at Blair, later Zion. In 1888[this church] a brick church was built on the same site. In 1925 Zion became part of the United church of Canada. On December 17, 1995 this building was closed. The inside still looks as it was with pews etc., and is generally prestine, thus FM.
