Cedar Valley is a modern village NE of Millbrook at Hutchinson Rd and Cedar Valley Rd. Just east of these 2 corners, in the 1800(a)s, Baxter Creek was dammed up and a mill was erected below the dam. According to the 1877 Beers Map of Cavan Township this was on JR Reynolds(a) property. He owned much of the land in the area. I wonder if it was thus once called Reynoldsville.

A church existed just to the NW of the mill. The old Reynolds century home still stands proudly across the road from the bridge.

I got photos into the creek of the 100(a)s of suckers swimming upstream to spawn. Though I think they would have a hard time jumping over the dam(a)s waterfall into the mill pond above.

Nice! Reminds me somewhat of Ritchie Falls in the Haliburton area. :)
