Driven past her many times, finally got some pics. Easily visible from the 401 highway, on the south side. (about a KM or 2 west of the Darlington Nuclear plant). There are no signs posted saying "no Trespassing", so I dont believe there will be any issues for anyone who wants to visit the sight. I hope to get some pics of the inside soon.

The Proud Rider (1971): Back in 1971 a classic biker film was made in the area. The actual Satan's Choice of Oshawa were hired to act in the movie alongside a very young Art Hindle (his first movie). Many scenes were shot by the lake in Courtice here and at Darlington Provincial Park. Below are two shots of the railway bridge just south on Courtice Rd and of the farm that stood there as well..Clips of the movie are available on youtube now..

Was formerly a Shell 1867 "Canadiana" Rest stop. An 1867 log cabin themed restaurant and built in the 1960's with a number of other service centers along the 401. It seemed to have been abandoned by the late 80's or early 90's. Soon after, It may have briefly reopened almost to close again immediately. It would remain abandoned and deteriorating for the next 20+ years before finally being torn down in 2014.

I saw this yesterday from hwy 401 and of course stopped to take a look and snap few photos. It's more colorful now than 3 years ago and features couple of POEs. Very cool location. :)
