** DEMOLISHED - Summer 2014 ** A new house has been built on this property.

Guarding the very eastern entrance to Smithville is this urbex outpost; a real mystery house. At first glance, the house appears to have been destroyed by fire. The roof has the typical 'burned-through-and-collapsed' look, and objects from inside the home sit scattered in the yard as if they were hurriedly evacuated during the blaze. Doors and windows on the ground floor have been open all winter long, as if to air the house out of any lingering fire odour. We explored this location on the presumption that it was a fire house, and even left the property still talking about that fact. However, a week later, looking through photos while editing for this post, no solid evidence of fire can be seen. The ultimate reason for abandonment here remains a mystery. See if there is anything in the photos that lead to other suggestions.

This is an odd one. Leaving so many new things, the varying levels of decay throughout..weird!
